As you will know from the information provided before half term, this term’s topic is based around predators. This will give the children the chance to use their scientific skills.
It’s time to take a walk on the wild side! Learn about what animals and the voracious flytrap eats. Then use your knowledge to create the ultimate predator. Write an accurate recount of your zoo trip, compose a two-voice poem where your prey is chased by a predator, become a predator chasing your prey in an adventure story and produce a fact filled report showing off your knowledge.
In maths we will be revisiting the national curriculum learning objectives taught so far this year. Spelling homework will be set on a Tuesday and collected in on a Friday. Reading continues to be an important part of the school curriculum. Reading books and records should be in school and completed daily.
PE will continue to be on a Wednesday and Friday for Years 3 and 4. As the weather will be getting warmer most PE sessions will take place outdoors. Please ensure your child has the appropriate PE kit, including trainers and a hat, every day as our timetable can change at short notice.
Thank you for your continued support. The Year 3 teaching team.
