Home Learning during School Closure
Now that school is closed, I will add some home learning on this page. The main focus will be basic skills such as phonics activities, writing, maths skills and activities and games to ensure learning and play is still taking place.
You already have some activities and different exercise books. Phonics activities will currently continue weekly and new sounds will be sent home via Tapestry.
You also have reading books your child can read. Please focus on a minimum of two books per week and also read and practice some dictation writing activities with tricky words and phase 2 and 3 sounds.

Subscription service used by schools is offering a free premium service for educators, parents and children to use while schools are closed- enter the code UKTWINKLHELPS.
Worksheets, PowerPoints and interactive games to support all areas of learning.
There are lots of flash cards on the Literacy page of this website to help further with segmenting and blending to read. You could then use these flash cards as dictation ideas. Your child could also try to put these words into a simple sentence and try to write it.
I have sent home up to two more phonics books for you to use at home. In the meantime, please ensure you have pencils, crayons, felt tips, scissors, glue and possibly collage materials for your child to use whilst away from school. Puzzles and games would also support children during this time.
Please don’t feel your child needs to be learning all day every day. We suggest up to 2 hour a day. Learning at home is different than learning in school. Remember, anything can be learning. From making a sandwich, playing a board game, game, dressing up, to playing with coins.
