Headteacher's Welcome

As the new Headteacher, I am delighted to welcome you to Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School. I am honoured and truly privileged to lead this vibrant, faith-filled community, where every child is cherished as a unique gift from God and encouraged to grow into the person He has created them to be. I am delighted to introduce you to our wonderful school community, where faith, learning and love are at the heart of all we do.

At Sacred Heart, our mission – “Together we live and learn; we play and pray” – is at the core of our daily life. As a Catholic school, we are inspired by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. Our children are nurtured in Gospel values such as compassion, respect, justice and forgiveness, which guide their actions in school and in the wider world. They learn to treat others with kindness, live responsibly, and become thoughtful, caring citizens. We believe that every child is a unique gift from God, and it is our vocation to help them discover and develop their God-given talents, becoming the person God has called them to be by nurturing each child to grow spiritually, academically and emotionally.

As Pope Francis reminds us, “Education is an act of hope… it is a journey towards beauty, towards what is good, towards what is true”. This belief underpins everything we do at Sacred Heart. We are proud to be an inclusive school where all are welcome, valued and respected. In our vibrant and caring environment, children are encouraged to be confident, reflective and compassionate. They are supported to become responsible, global citizens who care deeply about their community and the wider world.

Our dedicated staff are committed to providing a rich, engaging curriculum that inspires curiosity and fosters a love of learning. Through creative, stimulating and joyful experiences, we help children to develop a lifelong passion for discovery, while also making lasting memories. We want every child to leave Sacred Heart not only with strong academic foundations, but also with a deep sense of dignity, courage, justice and faith.

A strong link exists between the School and the Parish of Sacred Heart and St Oswald's with our Parish Priest, Father Seelan. We firmly believe in a collaborative partnership between home, School and Parish so that, together, we can support every child to develop and grow to their full potential; this partnership with parents, carers and the wider parish community is central to our success. We believe that by working together, we can nurture the gifts and talents of every child and support them on their journey of faith and learning. We are blessed to have such a strong and supportive community around us, and we value the vital role families play in the life of our school.

I warmly invite you to explore our website to learn more about our Sacred Heart family. Whether you are a current family or considering joining us, I hope you get a sense of the inclusive joy, warmth and faith-filled spirit that makes our school so special.

Many thanks,

Maureen Collier
