WELCOME BACK TO THE HUB! 

Autumn Term 2026 

We are very excited to welcome everyone back to the Hub for another busy and enjoyable term. As always, our curriculum will be carefully adapted to meet the individual needs of our pupils, with plenty of opportunities for practical learning, communication, independence, creativity and fun. 

Pharaohs to Mo! 

Our topic this term is Pharaohs to Mo! – Exploring Egypt: Then and Now. We will travel back in time to discover the fascinating world of Ancient Egypt, learning about pharaohs, pyramids, the River Nile, gods and goddesses, hieroglyphics and the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb. But our exploration will not stop in the past! We will also discover Egypt today, exploring its cities, landscapes, food and culture and finding out about one of modern Egypt's most famous faces - Mohamed Salah. 

Across our topic work, pupils will take part in lots of practical and creative learning. In Geography, we will follow the River Nile and explore how it has shaped Egypt both past and present. In Art, we will investigate Egyptian art, pattern and portraiture – moving from Pharaohs to Footballers! In Design Technology, we will design and build working shadufs and investigate boats used to travel along the Nile. We will also explore Egyptian food, music and modern life. 

English and Maths 

In English, we will use carefully chosen, high-quality texts as starting points for reading, communication and writing. Activities will be adapted so that every pupil can participate successfully, from visual and practical activities, sequencing and sentence building through to more extended writing. 

In Maths, pupils will continue to develop their individual mathematical knowledge and skills through structured teaching alongside practical, real-life problem-solving. 

Learning in the Hub 

Alongside our academic curriculum, we will continue to place great importance on communication, emotional regulation, independence, social understanding and life skills. Sensory and movement opportunities will be built into the school day, and pupils will continue to work towards their own individual targets. 

We know that returning to school after the summer can be exciting for some children and more challenging for others, so our first priority will be helping everyone to feel settled and ready to learn. 

We are looking forward to a fantastic Autumn Term together – and to seeing where our journey from Pharaohs to Mo takes us! 

P.E will be on Wednesdays.
